We are off to Europe!!! The start of our European tour.
25th September 2023 We left home and headed to the New Dover Road Park and Ride in Canterbury, this is a perfect place to stop to explore Canterbury or as a stopover before/after your channel crossing. It cost £4 for 24 hours (Midnight to Midnight) so an overnight stop is £8. There is a water filling point and also grey/black waste emptying and bins. We caught the free bus into Canterbury city centre and spent the afternoon exploring some of the sites. This is a very picturesque place with lots of history and shops to visit. 26th September We left the Park and Ride at 5.30am to head to the tunnel for our crossing. Once at the Eurotunnel it is a very simple process to get checked in and then you have to wait to be called. Once you are called you proceed through passport control and customs, which is very straight forward, and the only check is usually to make sure your gas is turned off.
